Glasses
Glasses aren't just trendy accessories; they are an essential piece of protective kit.
Whether riding on or off-road your eyes are at risk from pieces of grit and grime coming up of your wheels, insects, dust and wind. Riding with glasses will protect you from getting anything in your eyes which at the least is uncomfortable and at the worst could damage them. Glasses also protect your eyes from the wind, which can cause your eyes to water, particularly on fast descents.
Glasses come in a wide range designs, the best for riding are the wraparound style which fit close to the face and cover the sides of the eyes offering superior wind protection and clearer peripheral vision. As not every riding day is going to be sunny multi-lens glasses are a good choice, a selection of three lenses; dark, clear and amber (light-enhancing) will see you through every kind of riding condition. When choosing a multi-lens design check how easy it is to remove and replace lenses and how strong the frame is. Hinges are a weak point on glasses so several manufacturers offer one-piece frames which are stronger.

Smaller lenses and frames are available for women and children, it is important for glasses to fit snugly if they are going to do their job properly. A snug fit can lead to your lenses steaming up. Many top end glasses are vented to prevent this from happening.
