Shifters

Changing gear when the pressure is on is an essential part of riding, and having the right shifters can really put control in your hands. Mountain bikers tend to use ‘rapid fire’ shifters popularised by Shimano, while models from SRAM – including its ‘twist’ shifter systems – are also available. Modern road bike shifters are usually integrated with brake levers – often referred to as Shimano STI levers. We also have SRAM and Campagnolo levers. Meanwhile, with mountain bike gear systems increasingly using 10-speed cassettes – and both mountain and road bikes using double or triple chainsets for the front derailleur – make sure you get the right shifters for your needs.
