NEW! International Collection Point (Gatwick Airport)
For our international customers that prefer the personal touch we offer the facility to collect your purchase in person from our Gatwick distribution centre – located 5 minutes from Gatwick International Airport, London.
Serviced by all of the major budget airlines, flying to Gatwick can be a very cost effective way to collect your new bike purchase.
What’s more, for our international customers we will pay your taxi fare to and from the airport to our collection point!
To take advantage of our collection point, simply contact our Mail Order team by e-mail or over the phone on +44(0)1293 574900, requesting to pick your bike up from our international collection point. We do recommend you place your order over the phone, rather than online as our sales advisors will be able to help co-ordinate timings for building and collection of your bike.
For opening times and location details of our collection point please visit our Gatwick store page.
All international bike orders are assembled and inspected by our qualified mechanics prior to being repackaged specifically for international despatch. Click here for more information on how our bikes are packaged specifically for international shipping and worldwide travel.
One of the many advantages of placing an international order with Evans Cycles is that international travellers from outside the EU are in most cases able to claim the VAT back on their purchases. Click here for more information on reclaiming VAT, duty and other charges which may apply

Conditions: Taxi fare paid for customers spending £300 or more in a single transaction. Customers must present an international boarding pass valid on the day of purchase, a valid passport and an alternative form of ID to verify billing address. Evans Cycles cannot be held responsible for any consequential delays, missed flights or charges incurred due to factors outside of our control. We recommend that customers liaise with their airlines with regards to transporting bikes on their flights. Evans Cycles can not be held responsible for any damage caused when transporting your bike.
Bike Packaging
All bikes ordered for international shipping are fully assembled and inspected by our qulified mechanics prior to packaging for despatch. Due to size restrictions imposed by our international couriers, we repackage the bike in its original factory box as opposed to our custom oversized bike box used for UK orders.
Bikes collected from out Gatwick international collection point will be built and tested to our usual high standards. Fully aware of the size restrictions imposed by airlines, we will then repackage the bikes into a bike box ready for you to transport back on the plane.
Click here to find out about how we assemble, test and repackage your bike prior to despatch.
VAT & Duty
Website & Mail Order Purchases
VAT is automatically removed for orders delivered to the Channel Islands and outside of the European Community. VAT cannot be removed for deliveries within the European Community.
Some countries may charge you import tax for certain items. If you have any queries regarding this then please contact your local tax office who should be able to assist you further. Unfortunately Evans Cycles cannot advise on import tax and duty enquiries.
International Visitors & In Store Purchases
Evans Cycles are part of the VAT Retail Export Scheme. International travellers from outside the EU are in most cases able to claim the VAT back on their purchases.
How to claim back the VAT:
- At the time of purchase simply inform a member of staff in-store that you are an international visitor and wish to claim back the VAT on your purchase.
- Our staff will provide you with, and help you complete a VAT 407 form. This form is completed with details of your purchase, your contact details and details of the credit card you would like your refund processed.
- Present the completed VAT 407 form, along with your receipt and goods at the Customs Desk at your departing port. It is important that HM Customs stamp your form, without this stamp your claim will be invalid.
- Upon successfully submitting the form, the form will be returned to us at Evans Cycles where we will process your VAT refund. Refunding the appropriate amount directly to your credit card.
Customers should be aware that VAT is not applied, and therefore can not be claimed back on certain goods including helmets and some food items.
Full details on the Retail Export Scheme can be found on the HM Revenue & Customs website.
International Returns
If you wish to return an item that is unsuitable or not required you will be liable for the return delivery. If you wish to then try a different size or style, delivery will be charged again to post the item back to you.
