4X team update - NPS Round 5

It's me... Ollie Jones from the Evans Cycles 4X team. I'm back again with a review of this weekends exploits from Round 5 of the National Points series coinsiding with the National 4X Championship.

Usually we camp it out at the 4X races but this weekend we had the luxury of Evans Cycles team member Charlie Robert's family home.
The track has had a few changes since I raced there last year but its still super fast and fun. Practice was a bit interesting as myself and Stefan Garlicky had just rebuilt our Pinnacle Camino's the day before and still had some tweaking to do.

Race time: Mottos (rounds) went really well for Stefan and Matthew even though Matthew had hurt his ankle in a crash during practice but struggled on to come in 5th place.
Both Matthew and Stefan were really good to watch as they both don't have the best gates but are super quick and great at over taking. It all made for some really exciting racing in the seniors and juniors. Chris Van Allerman and Charlie Roberts both had pretty good day out but did not get the results they were after. It was Chris's birthday weekend so happy birthday to him. Charlie was pretty good even though it was his first time back racing since time off.  My race faired ok but I was in the gates against top rider Scott Beaumont and has a small crash on one of the rounds.

The next race is on the 9th August at Penshurst in Kent otherwise know as P.O.R.C.  It would be really great to have any one interested in watching or racing to come along. We will probably be going down to practice there next week Wednesday so if you can get a day off come join us.

Also a special mention should go out to Terri-Anne Busbridge a member of the Evans Cycles purchasing department and 4X rider. She finished 2nd overall and took home the silver National Champs Medal.
