Cycle to Work Guarantee launched

Public sector organisations and big business sign up to the Cycle to Work Guarantee and pledge their commitment to get their staff riding to work by bike!

Almost 100 major employers - including the NHS and local governments have put their name to the Cycle to Work Guarantee scheme – promising to provide staff with bike storage, changing facilities and access to Ride2Work salary sacrifice programmes to allow their staff to buy new bikes and equipment at a fraction of the retail price.

Transport secretary Andrew Adonis who launched the initiative said the government aimed to triple the amount of people currently cycling to work.

“We’re contacted on a daily basis by public sector workers frustrated that they can’t take advantage of the scheme because their employer isn’t signed up.” Says Evans Cycles Ride2Work Manager Maja Oakes.  “We could not more firmly support Andrew Adonis’ push to encourage more employers, especially those in the public sector, to offer the cycle to work scheme and better cycling facilities to their staff.”
