The Pinnacle Coldharbour 1.0 mountain bike (£699.99) is a new editon in the model range for 2009. South East mountain bikers will know that Coldharbour is a picturesque village slap bang in the heart of the Surrey Hills - the local off-road stomping ground for mountain bikes and the Pinnacle designers.
It’s this area that inspired the bike so it’s only fitting the model carriers the Coldharbour name.
Long travel hardtail
The frame geometry of the Coldharbour has been designed specifically to accommodate the long travel Rockshox 130-140mm travel forks. The relaxed geometry and long travel suspension is ideal for riders wanting plush up front travel but without the complexity and cost of rear suspension – something that can get gunked up in sticky conditions.
MBR 8/10 review
MBR magazine reviewed the bike in the August 2009 issue and were suitably impressed commenting "the Pinnacle Coldharbour may well be at home on the South-East singletrack it is named after, but it could also handle some rougher parts of the country just as well."
Testers said they had no reservations recommending the Pinnacle, stating "it feels a little tougher in its attitude than other bikes," when reviewing the performance they said "the layout on this bike is the best here, in terms of the right mix of speed and safe handling, especiailly for a less experienced rider."
The verdict was "a good choice for anyone from a novice to a heavy-handed trail rider who wants to test their skill on the descents and hit a few drops, 8/10"
