Very happy. I got this one on special, which made it very good value but I would have bought it at the regular price anyway. I’ve always wanted a Bianchi in Celeste. Firstly, the bike rides well. I haven’t tried it on the track yet but it handles well enough around the usual objects on the road. It’s sharpish while remaining stable but nowhere near as twitchy as a serious track bike. You could call this an entry-level track bike but I have a feeling 95% of these are used on the road. The bike is very responsive and accelerates well when jumping out of the saddle. On the road is the only area I was able to find any faults. As the last reviewer noted, the front brake supplied is suspect and even though the pre-delivery had it well adjusted, a good squeeze will take it to the bar. From what I can see, it’s the callipers that are flexible and will be replaced with something not built to a price. The gearing is also too high. The 48/16 seems to show up on a lot of new bikes but I think it’s too high for around town. In my opinion, it should come with at least a 17 on the rear. None of the parts on this bike are top of the line but then it would end up costing a lot more so I see them as adequate. The wheels are the truest I’ve ever received on a new bike although I was surprised to see only 28 spokes on the rear. Maybe I’m old fashioned but I would have thought 32 would be a minimum on this type of bike. I found the saddle to be a tad soft (maybe something to do with the fact I weigh 100kg) and the reach to the bar is extreme if you’ve spent the last few years on a mountain bike. The bars are strong but then they are chromed steel. Overall, each part (apart from the brake) does its job… adequately. As always, by shopping around it is possible to buy another brand that might have a better crank or better hubs but had I done that, I wouldn’t have the bike I wanted: a Celeste Bianchi track bike. Bianchi Pista The frame is of good quality. It looks good and performs well. Geometries are good and it gives a responsive ride. Some components have been of poor quality and durability on the bike that I purchased. The tyres were continually punctured by small stones on rides. Punctures every second ride led to them being replaced after only 4 weeks. The single brake was spongy and did not perform braking function effectively. It has also been replaced. The handle bar tape has worn quickly and has been replaced. The headset has play in it and required adjustment after only six weeks. Poor value for money and poor duarbility and performance of these components lead to a recommendation not to purchase this bike. 11 October 2010

Just Awesome I was initially torn between the chrome pista, the langster and the via condotti but after test riding the langster it felt sluggish in comparison. My reason for buying was through a want to upgrade from my raleigh conversion fixie. this bike is so light and flexes beautifully comes with a 48 16 gear which is nice to ride but only has one skid patch which is a bit of a pain but can easily be sorted by buying a 17 tooth rear cog to give 17 patches. Stock parts are all of high quality (apart from tyres) but despite its classic looks if you so wanted this bike can be modernised I put a set of black velocity b43s on just to see how it looked and it was VERY nice! But Definately the nicest fixie I have ever seen as a complete bike. the chromeing is sublime slight profiling on the down tube is hardly noticeable and very tasteful. Only downsides to this bike is that it isn't available as just a frameset and the stem is very long, I'm fairly tall at 5'11 but i find myself stretched out. The steerer is a 1" and 1"stems are very hard to find but any 1 1/8 stem will fit with a shim. All in all I really like this bike it feels like it just wants to go It does work out expensive if you want to customise it but test ride one and all becomes clear this is a stunning bike in all ways!
