this bike is my first carbon bike. sl02 is good price , comfortable, and, looks great !! i'm happy when ride it. but dt-swiss wheeles are a little heavy, i think.

I bought the BMC Roadracer three weeks ago and what a machine. Its fast,smooth and looks good. I have been mountain biking for the past 12 month and wanted to ride further so decided to buy a road bike. The reviews already on the web helped me narrow my search and only being 5ft 6 the size was perfect. (evans recommended a 51) Thanks evans cycles.I got the bike for the sale price which is a bargin as i was able to purchase pedal and shoes. well worth the money.

I’m not going to overload this with technical detail, just going to give you an insight on how I feel about the BMC SLO2 2011. I’m a middle age rider who’s objective is to complete of 60 km rides littered with sharp ramps (climbs some at 20% gradient). Like most cyclist we start with bikes of low quality and with each purchase try to spend to improve those qualities. For me the money I put aside to spend was a high one, and so I spent a lot of time researching the bikes in my price range and was sold on the Cannondale Super Six. However being on the short side, trying to find one in stock, Yes I could have waited, instead I reverted to my second choice the BMC SLO2 2011. My initial disappointment was blown away when I unpacked the bike, its looks are great and have attracted comments from various cyclist. So to the most important point of the review how does it ride? Like a dream is the simple answer, its light and responsive giving great handling, all the parts work well together giving a smooth ride. One nice thing about the design of the frame allows the cleaning process (pain in backside) an easy task. If I was given the choice again I would not choose another bike, I love it.

i took some time trying to decide which bike to buy in order to upgrade my trek 1.2. In the end my choices were BMC or specialized. Specification aside, when I saw the BMC roadster in the Evans shop it seemed to stand out immediately. What a great looking bike. However, looks aren't everything so I had to weigh up value for money. I wanted 20 gears, a lightweight frame and the best spec that I could afford. When I looked at the specialized bikes in my price range they all seemed to be lacking a part that the BMC already had unless I spent £2000 or more. Being totally 105 I didn't need to upgrade in the future. Also I couldn't believe the lightness of the bike. Having picked up numerous other bikes that were all fully carbon they all began to feel the same weight- the BMC really stood out as I picked it up- I couldn't believe how light it felt. In the end I decided to spend some extra money and get the BMC rather than spending less on another carbon bike with less spec and apparently heavier. I knew that I would always be thinking why didn't I go for the BMC had I purchased something else.
On the road the bike is fantastic. It feels really solid and makes riding a joy. It is fast, light and smooth. I have only commuted to work so far, however I have detoured to make the journey last a bit longer as I have enjoyed the ride so much. I fully recommend this bike even though it isn't cheap. I know that I don't need to upgrade in the future as this bike will be hard to beat. If I can't ride this machine to a good standard then there isn't much left to go for. Also, my friends immediately comment on how great it looks. I did change the saddle to a gel saddle as the BMC one was rather thin and uncomfortable.
