A great idea Purchased these to avoid ingesting any more of the mud which we have so much of at the moment. These covers completely cover the bite valve, however camelbak chose to make them from the least pliable plastic which makes them impossible to fit unless you soften them in boiling water for a good 5 minutes December 27, 2012

Keeps out the muck! Easy to fit and keeps the mouthpiece clean. Just what I needed to keep the sand and germs away in the desert! I could relax when taking my pack off at our breaks knowing if the tube trailed in sand once I popped the cover off i would get a clean flow. Others without the cover were spitting sand and risking bugs. A few were going to buy one for off road biking. I did use two hands to open the cover, which may be a problem on a bike, but if you could fix the tube more firmly it could work one handed. November 4, 2012

Protection from dirt,& other nasties If you are used to removing camelbak bite valves then these are really easy to fit. If not then just dunk valve in a cup of hot water for 10 seconds or so, GENTLY pull the valve off, pop the cover on and fit the valve back on, job done !!! Helps to keep your valve clean, especially when you set everything down and the tube is on the ground. For the price I would recommend their use, especially to avoid picking up some disease from contaminants such as animal S, H, (one), T which, let's be honest, is everywhere if you are in forests and such. Perfect for muddy rides! Perfect for muddy rides! I bought this after doing the (very muddy) Manchester to Liverpool ride a few weeks ago. I got half way through and realised I couldn't drink out of my Camelbak because it was covered in mud, along with my hands, so I couldn't clean it. Since buying this I have had no problems with mud and dirt covering my bite valve. It was a little tricky to fit, but once it was on it's perfect. June 27, 2012
