I thought I'd add a review as there's only about three online, which is a shame for such a fantastic bike. I bought one of the last three in the sale from Evans using their 0% finance, and have found them a pleasure to deal with. Like the other reviewer I'm new to road bikes and come from a MTB background. I was looking for a bike for my daily 14 mile commute, plus occasional longer rides at the weekends, and possibily the odd sportive etc. if I took to it. I was realistic enough to know I'd never race, and therefore ruled out carbon bikes, although planet x tempted me.. I'd trialled a Genesis Anther which I liked but decided the alumunium ride was a bit harsh for me. So I decided to stick to steel, as my cro-mo specialized rockhopper has lasted 10 years and is still going strong. I wanted a Genesis Equlibrium (also steel, and a British brand with a retro feel and similar pricing to Charge bikes) but couldn't find any at a good price. So I've bought the Juicer, and have now been riding it a couple of weeks...and I love it! I was worried I wouldn't get on with the brakes, and looked at cross bikes which had two sets of brakes. But I've adjusted very quickly and spend 80% of my time on the hoods, 10% on the drops, and 10% on the top. My only niggle is the pads are a bit spongy, (as mentioned elsewhere) and i'll probably swap for koolstops at some point. Everything else works as it should, and the wheels seem sturdy enough to manage the odd bit of pavement. One thing to mention is I tried replacing the 23c tyres for 25c gatorskin ones, but they rubbed slightly on the mudguards so they've gone back to Evans, which is a bit annoying. Come the summer I might remove or change the mudguards, as I'm still not 100% about the look of them. I also decided to save myself £200 and go for the triple over the compact, tiagra over 105 which I think was the right chioce for my level of riding. Haven't used the 'granny' ring yet, but then I live in Cambridge and don't encounter any big hills. Still useful to have, if a little unfashionable in the road bike world. The frame looks great in black, all skinny tubes look good to my eye, and decals definately on the 'understated' side. If you're looking for a road bike which is a bit different from the norm I can recommend the Juicer. £1000 is a lot of dosh, so get one cheaper if you can! Hope this helps.

Was looking for a first road bike with drop handles and was'nt worried about out and out speed and weight. The charge is a beautiful looking bike with good groupset and was excellent value. The service and delivery was excellent from Evans although had to take it to an IBS in order to get fully set up safely. The brakes were not working properly out of the box and with no experience did'nt want to go out on the road without these being fully checked. This cost me around £30 but well worth it for peace of mind.
