Brought a charge plug i year ago now,this was my first fixed/single speed bike and i must say im hooked,i own mountain bikes and specialist triathlon machines but this was brought for pleasure and to see just how fixed single speed works.i was concerned at first over the possible limits of fixed gear,but charge offer the best of both worlds with the flip over wheel.with a cog on each side of the back wheel you have a choice of totally fixed wheel or freewheeling wheel.in short it would suit most people.
The frame geometry is quiet high,it suits me as im 6`1" but shorter people may want to check out the bikes in store before buying.
the gearing i found to be just about right,good around town,i also took it up some serious hills and ok for speeding along on the flat,i would say that at some point when you get used to the gearing you will run out of steam and the more prehaps pro people may want to up gear a bit.
Only real downside or minor niggle was the amatuer way two zip ties were used to fix the rear brake cable to the top tube,1 year on these have rubbed away the paint at two points to bare metal and marked the top tube all along the top,didn`t notice at the time,prehaps just some simple black electrical tape would have been a better choice if they could have been a bit more bothered.
Generally the bike was brilliant,loved the matching leather look bar tape and seat,bike performed well,i actually liked the gearing and the brakes were fine.I set out on this bike as a test but enjoyed it so much that after adding aerobars it became my triathlon training bike,dispite having no gears and using this as sole training bike,i reached 7th fastest (using a different bike)on the bike section at london and blenhiem palace triathlons.The bike is also used for recreation and commuting 6 miles to work daily,bike has proved to be one of the best bikes ive owned and i would recommend it,just check out the height in store!

Pros: Lightweight, Looks great, Good value

This is my first singlespeed bike, before that I used to commute with a large folding bike (a Dahon Jack). I know the comparison is unfair, but this bike changed entirely my idea about commuting. Now I'm doing about 18miles a day with no problem!!! The bike is really cool looking, not expensive, solid and light. You cannot put racks and mudguards (unless you don't make holes in your frame or you put a clip-type mudguards) but this is ok. Again it completely changed my perspectives on cycling! (although apparently there is a quite large number of people having this bike, so if you want to be original avoid it, or try to customise it!)

Great frame but...

Use bike for my commute and love the frame. Light, strong and flex free. After riding for a ffew weeks, I've made some upgrades to the original package though. Pedals are slippery when wet, as there are no serrations on the edges. Easily fixed but the ones fitted at the factory should be better when you're paying £500 for a bike.

Those using the bike on flat-ish terrain might find the 42/16 gearing a little light. I moved up to a 44T chainring from Velosolo, and now I'm used to that might eventually go to a 46T. No spare links for the chain were supplied so I also had to get a new chain.

Lastly, the tires that come with it are definately built for comfort not speed. MIght be just bad luck, but I had two punctures in two days. I've ordered some new tires and tubes (moving to 25c from 28c) which should solve that problem.

In summary though, love the frame - perfect geometry for me (6' 2"). Light, responsive, flex free. A bit of fine tuning required on the factory supplied components but it still would ride fine straight out of the factory - I'm just a bit picky perhaps.
