If you are the kind of rider who puts their saddle down for descents, then the Crank Brothers Joplin SMU Height Adjustable Seatpost with Remote Kit is the answer to your prayers. With just a quick flick on the bar mounted joystick, you can drop your saddle by 75mm (3in), enough for even the gnarliest descent. And when you get to the bottom, just unweight the saddle, press the lever and you’ll have the saddle back up to full height for the climb back up.
The Joplin seat post works on the same principle as your typical office chair, the seat post’s hydraulic action allows you to instantly fine tune your seat height, and therefore your riding position. If you don’t want to drop the saddle the whole way down, fine, just let go the joystick once your saddle is at the desired height and you are ready to ride. The joystick can mount on top of the bar, on the bottom, in the middle…wherever makes sense for your own setup and you can move the joystick in any direction to activate the post. No more interrupting the flow while you mess around with your seat collar. Just get on your bike and ride.
