Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great, so handy. can go anywhere

i have a dahon espresso folding mountain bike, bought just last may (2010) and i do like it. went out to buy another dahon bike (as i felt in love with it) and found this superb folding like road bike (dahon Cadenza) and it was a marvel. to be honest it is better than my espresso (though i love them both).

No, I do not recommend this product.

Pros: Comfortable, Looks great

Cons: Poor quality, Heavy, dangerously bad breaks, really loud frame creek

Great looking bike... BUT, the breaks are dangerously bad, the frame creeks like an old man's knees, the rear wheel needed to be rebuilt after 4 days... and worst of all, I am told by Kings Cross staff that it will soon not be allowed on commuter trains due to its size... what good is a fold up commuter bike that is not permitted on trains?

Yes, I recommend this product.

Evans asked me to write a review on my Cadenza Solo. Which is a bit tricky as on the one hand I am quite disappointed with the quality of some parts of the bike. But on the other hand I am enthusiastic about the bike's concept and most of the time thoroughly enjoy riding it.

As other reviewers pointed out the build quality of some parts of the bike is not the best. The wheels are rubbish and I do not leave the house without a spoke key. I expect that I will have to replace the wheels and also the chain soon. Also the bottom bracket does not seem very solid. So from that point of view I would not rate the bike highly.

On the other hand, I kind of expect these things when buying a complete bike for the price the Cadenza Solo is now sold for. Everyone knows that the vendors try to save money by putting cheap parts on their bikes. It is frustrating but not surprising. And not the first time I buy a bike and end up replacing one part after the other. So at the end what matters most is the frame and I have not had any problems with that.

Which brings me to the concept of the bike and its big pro: If what you would really like to ride on your daily commute is a single speed road bike, but you can't because you need to take the train, then the Cadenza Solo is an ideal bike and great fun. So much fun that you might end up using it on the week-end.

If you are not into single speed biking and not into road bikes but only need a bike to comfortably cycle the one mile from the station to your office, look somewhere else. If what you are really into is road bikes and you want a "real" and also sportive bike as well for the commute, do consider it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Pros: Good value, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great

I've had my Cadenza Solo for just over a year now and I have to say it has handled my daily commute with ease. (iro 7 miles per day).

Yes there have been bad days when I just want to through it under a bus, but with a little maintanence and a careful tweek of the adjustment bolts on the Lock Jaw hinge and it has served me very well.

No, the build quality isn't 100%, but with the bargain price compared to the little wheeled favourites bouncing around London these days, I wouldn't be one to quibble over some slightly wobbley wheels that need tightening and a very weak first chain that I had to bin after a few weeks.

It's easy to fold and fits onto a packed out commuter train with ease and mininal disruption to others.

Would I get another? Yes, probably but with my commute I've found that a few gears wouldn't go a miss!

With two years of use (two folds and unfolds daily) and many miles of commuting between Northampton and London I have to say I've been very pleased with my Cadenza Solo. Yes it has had a few new bits (700c wheels, caliper brakes, chain upgrade), but it is still going strong.

The frame is well run-in now and any annoying creeks that so many people report on these frame have disappeared completely.

A great machine with a super fast folding method which leaves the smaller wheeled folders (mentioning no names) hanging around on the platform whilst I'm off through the ticket barriers.

Great for the money and would get another should I feel the need to refresh my ride.
