Genesis Mantle 20 2014 Mountain Bike

Genesis Mantle 20 2014 Mountain Bike. Born from Genesis’s award-winning Core range and utilising the same highly-praised geometry as the High Latitude, Mantle is their range of lightweight, triple-butted 6069 aluminium-framed 29er hardtails. Bred with planted handling and a healthy dollop of playfulness the Mantle series lends itself equally well to fast and fun trail riding. Using the same proven formula as the Core, Genesis have dressed the Mantle 20 in a dependable, performance, trail-riders’ spec; air-sprung, tapered steerer RockShox fork that’s tuneable for rider weight, wide 700mm bar/short stem combo, powerful Shimano M447 hydraulic anchors and a full Shimano 9sp drivetrain. The Mantle 20 features a 6069 ALX triple butted alloy frame, the careful selection of tube diameters and wall thicknesses ensures the the frame is light and stiff, yet comfortable enough for long days in the saddle. An XX44 headtube keeps the steering precise and ensures the bike goes where you point it. feature Shimano drivetrains, hubs and brakes throughout, as well as tapered steerer Rockshox air-sprung forks. This bike takes over from where the Core 40 and Core 50 left off, however the bigger wheels allow you to roll further and roll faster and provide the confidence to push your limits and progress your riding.

6069 Triple-Butted Aluminium: The butting process meanwhile ensures ample wall thickness and strength where required but trims any excess and extra unnecessary weight where it’s not. 29" Wheels: The larger wheels literally allow you to roll both further and faster than ever before thanks to the increased momentum and ability to roll over objects. If you’re a slightly taller rider or prefer your riding fast and high-paced then a 29er is for you! Size-Specific Forks: The 16" model comes with 80mm fork to keep the front end height in proportion and the controls at a manageable height whilst sizes 17.5"-20.5" come fitted with 100mm travel forks fitted. 435mm Chainstays & Curved Seat Tube: Whilst Genesis’s 435mm chainstays (centre to centre) are shorter than most other steel 29er frames on the market, they haven’t compromised on tyre, front derailleur or mud clearance. By bending the seat tube by 5 degrees the front mech sits well forward of the tyre and mud can pass by easily. They’ve used the chainstay plate from the Latitude 853 to provide plenty of mud clearance, even using 2.4 inch tyres. Ready for the very worst of the UK weather.
