To be frank, the Comp will likely always be a contender for awards and accolades from picky magazine editors. Jamis don’t cut corners trying to get to market with the least expensive carbon fibre frame. The mid-modulus carbon frame receives the Dyad Plus fibre lay-up, tri-oval shaped top and down tubes in size-specific diameters for optimal ride tuning, and the power-enhancing stiffness of a BB30 OS bottom bracket shell. Add asymmetrical chainstays and a full carbon, hollow-crown monocoque fork and it’s clear: nobody else provides this much frame tech for so little green.

Carbon bike at a great price Being new to road cycling I ended up trawling the forums and researching all sorts. I came across the Jamis Xenith whilst looking in Evans at some Specialize bikes. I commute 14-16 miles a day with the longer rides (20+) at the weekends and have been thoroughly impressed with it so far (8 Weeks in). Aesthetically it is superb although I have a feeling I may get a bit OCD when it comes to the bar tape, it may get very dirty being white. I will be upgrading the tyres and brakes in the near future as I feel these are the only weaknesses for this bike certainly at my level. The main reason for the tyre change is purely down to riding it in all weather so requiring more puncture proof tyres. I am suitably impressed with the spec of the bike in relation to the price. Great spec for the price I bought this road bike to keep my mountain biking legs spinning when I can't get to the trails. Wow - what a revelation! Eating the miles on this bike is wonderful. The bike is very comfortable, gears are super smooth and the bike is so light and responsive. I'm 6'1" and bought the 58cm. One issue I had was a creaking noise from the bottom bracket area when used on my turbo trainer, but this was quickly rectified during the free first service at Evans. (regrease and pedal correctly tightened (my mistake!)). I've been worried about lack of power from the Tektro brakes (compared to disc on my MTB) but have always stopped when I needed to. The brakes have become better with use and after my first dog induced emergency stop at the weekend have overcome my initial concern. Handlebar tape is getting a bit dirty, but the white tape and saddle coupled with the anodised red touches against the bare carbon frame is stunning. Overall delighted with my purchase and really pleased with how much fitter and faster this bike is making me. Whilst I still enjoy mountain biking, I'm spending much more time road cycling now. Overall a good bycicle To be honest, this is not the best bike on the market by far, But for the price you are paying and the fact that its a complete carbon fibre frame makes it a steel!! October 9, 2012

Great looking bike which cuts the mustard This bike has been purchased to help me decrease my cycling time in a sprint triathlon. It is everything I thought I wanted and more. To start with I got 25% off which made the bike good value, it looks fantastic and handles well. It has a high spec for the money being a carbon fibre frame and having the Shimano 105 gearset. My only slight complaint is the saddle is slightly uncomfortable for a female butt however this can be changed. September 18, 2012
