The Jamis Xenith Pro Di2 2012 Road Bike, Race and Race Femme frames come out of the same moulds as their Xenith SL, Team and Elite series bikes. So you know you’re getting superbly tuned cornering geometry and Euro-style fit geometry. High modulus Dyad Ultra carbon fibre combined with tri-oval shaped top and down tubes-with their Size Specific Tubing diameters-means you get incredible ride and amazing out-of-the-saddle sprinting and climbing performance, no matter what size frame you ride. Factor in details like asymmetrical chainstays, forged one-piece dropouts (with replaceable derailleur hanger), and a full carbon hollow crown fork with stainless axle interfaces and carbon dropouts, and you’ll see these are bikes that can cut corners with the best handlers around-but don’t shortcut any of the details that matter.

Oh, and did they mention the Pro adds Shimano’s new electronic-shifting Ultegra Di2? Anyone opting for Shimano Ultegra Di2 doesn’t have to worry about the technology. Brilliant bike at a great price. I had been looking for a full carbon bike for a few months when I stumbled upon this bike. It was inside my budget (just) and it had DI2 ! To be honest I was a little sceptical and made myself believe there must be something wrong some where so I kept searching for the right bike for me. But I kept coming back to this bike. So I decided I had better do a test ride to find out what was wrong with it. The staff in the shop were fantastic and we sorted the test ride really quickly (they even lent me a helmet!) It wasn't long into the test ride that I realised this bike was for me. The frame is of a classic design and looks even better in the flesh than in the pictures. It is really stiff, so every push on the pedals goes straight through to power on the road. The most amazing thing is that even with the racing geometry of this frame and the stiffness, the ride is still very comfortable. I was riding the Specialized Sectuer sport bike with zerts built into the front carbon forks before buying this bike and I think you get a lot less road buzz on the Jamis - you defiantly get a lot more speed! The components on the bike are all top quality. I've managed to jump from the shimano sora group set to the Ultegra and I now understand why you pay that bit more. The quality is outstanding. The only downside I thought was that the brake calipers are not Ultegra. They are shimano branded however and to be honest they work very well. As for Di2 what can I say? Try it and you won't want to go back. The main down side is that when you first get it you just can't stop changing gear because you can't believe how smooth and easy it is. I have even changed gear while standing up climbing with no slipping. Amazing. This truly is a great bike especially for the price (although my wife doesn't seem to quite understand that one!). I've done nearly 500 miles on it in its first month and had no worries at all. In my view you are paying for the name on big brand bikes with this bike every penny goes towards build and components. fantastic bike Been cycling for over 2 years now and wanted to venture into the carbon frame market with shimano di2. After a lot of research I came across the Jamis, then had to do further research as I had not heard a lot about them, all the reviews are great. I am 5'7" and got the 51 cm frame which is the smallest evans do. I think the frame is brilliant to look at and its great to ride with rapid acceleration . Along with the Di2 there is no delay or misshaps while changing gear, allowing you to keep your rythm effortlessly. I still train on my old bike and going back to cable shifting is like stepping back in time. For the price £2k in the sale and the frame quality, this is a real bargain . Once the wife has calmed down I will upgrade the wheels and possibly the brake calipers. I did have to change the cassettte to a 11-28 as heading off the alps, even with the compact chainring. This bike is amazing So much top quality equipment packed on this budget beating bike. Comfortable, fast and a pleasure to ride. I have increased by 4mph just by moving from my Giant SCR to this great bike. The gears are so smooth and a pleasure to use, regardless of if your going up hill or not. The wife doesnt quite understand why I have allocated a bedroom for my new baby - to think, she wants me to house it in the garage..!! February 25, 2013
