Cons: Heavy, Unattractive

Rides well. Gears a bit temperamental. Chain snapped on the second run. Not as light as I expected. I suppose good value for money as other bikes are really expensive.

I bought this bike to help me get fit. I absolutely love this bike. It's comfortable, nippy, durable, practical and a lot of fun to ride. There is a big stack of spacers between the stem and the headset so getting your handlebars the right height is a piece of cake. The grips are comfortable as is the saddle. I usually ride for about 30 miles or so and haven't had any discomfort. The bike handles very well. It is well balanced and stable without being boring. The brakes are fantastic once they've bedded in. Do a few dry rides with them before heading out in the rain or mud if possible. The gearing is smooth and reliable. The large 34 tooth sprocket on the cassette is a fantastic bail out gear if you're unfit or carrying a heavy load. I've put full length mudguards on the bike. These were easy enough to fit. You'll need a few washers to put on the chainstay bridge to get the mudguard to clear the front mech. You'll also need washers where the stay of the mudguard attaches to the fork dropout to clear the brake caliper. The alloy washers off v brake pads work well for both these tasks. If you wanted to fit a rack you'd have to make sure it was a disc brake compatable one. I'm really impressed with the quality of construction of both the frame and the fork. When refitting the wheels they glide in and sit perfectly straight in the frame and fork. I've had a lot of bikes with alignment problems in the past. This is the first bike i've had with no such problems. The wheels have proved to be durable. The tyres roll well on the road and offer a good amount of grip when the going gets a bit rougher. If you live somewhere with a lot of broken glass or thorns you might want to get some tyres that are a bit tougher. The bike is no lightweight, but being 22 stone i wanted something durable. It feels a lot more spritely than a mountainbike. A fantastic bike. Buy one.

Upgraded my hardtail for a hybrid. Considered Specialized and Scott but glad i went with the Dew Deluxe. Great frame, good geometry, fast, well spec'd and i think it looks great. As a whole, it feels just right. Been out a few times on it and the speed and ride are fantastic. Good gearing. So much lighter than I was used to. I would recommend seeing one to check for size. I'm 6'2" and went for a 60cm for the reach. The 58cm was ok but I feel more comfortable on the bigger frame. I would definately recommend it to anyone in the market for a sporty hybrid. Evans price matched a great deal for me and set it all up for me. I picked it up instore - this allows you to check it all over and you can give it a test ride. Can't wait for winter to be over so I can get out on it more often.
