Excellent everyday bike

Bought this bike mail order in June from Evans, received the bike boxed up nicely and delivery was prompt. Bike was easy to set up with the tools provided. I have delayed reviewing the bike as from the moment I started riding it I loved it and wanted to wait to see if the novelty wore off or problems developed. Well it is still love and I have had no problems with the bike. I find it handles really well, use it for commuting on country roads with the last few miles in town and it is nimble for the subway and city and nice and steady for pushing on through the 6 miles of gently rising and falling country road, The 42/16 gear is ideal, yes I spin out a little bit but find the gear overall is a good size. The chain stretches a fair bit so it will be upgraded, the finish seems good, easy to clean and maintain the bike and I would definately recomend the paddy wagon to anyone looking for a simple commuter that looks great aswell. The steel frame and 28c tyres provide a really nice ride quality also. To be honest there is nothing to dislike about the bike. Only change has been SPD's.

Bought the bike in Birmingham store, it just looked so good in the flesh. Its a fast road bike but got a bit of toughness about needed for our bad roads. I've put a 13 tooth cog on the back because I found the gearing a bit low for me and even tough the tyres weren't bad on it I've put some Continental hard shells, which being a bit narrower have really bought the bike to life. I use the bike as a run around but do a 60 odd mile round trip to the beach in Bournemouth, on the first trip I was amazed how much easier it was to cover miles at an average speed on a fixie than a Free wheel racer also steel frame is a lot more comfortable. (I had a fausto coppi before) with getting less tired. My cycling action & Hips has freed up important at 50. Fixie way to go .

This bike is great I was going to get a bianchi but this was considerably cheaper and I don't think I'm missing out. The staff at Birmingham were really helpful.

Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great, Good value, Good quality, fab bike all my mtb chums luv it !!

Bike is super fast------However I binned the drop bars,flipped the stem up ,put some nice EASTON RIZERS ON XT brake levers.Better brakes(MAVIC) Better tyres CONTI £70 a pair. REASON I had a mega KONA UNIT which was stolen !! This is my new commuter and I am well happy------------------

I've been considering going 'single speed' on my road bike for about 2 years. Last week I finally made the switch, and bought this Kona Paddy Wagon 2009 Road bike as my first single geared bike.
What can I say about it? Well, I'm loving it. The bike looks fantastic, and feels great to ride. Having never used a fixie before, I have started out on the freewheel hub, and I'm looking forward to flipping the back weel to and learning to ride using the fixie!
I use the bike for London commuting, and find the gear copes very well with all that Londons 'Hills' throw at me. This said however, the only con for me, after only a weeks worth of riding is that I am finding the 42:16 gear ratio to be a little low. Especially on the downhill and on the flat, I max out in speed very quickly.
All said and done, I'm delighted with this bike as my first single speed bike, but I think I will very quickly consider changing the gear ratio to something a little toughter.
