The Kryptonite Kryptoflex 4ft features a flexible braided steel cable with durable PVC coating to protect paint work. For use with any U-Lock to secure front wheel multiple bikes and/or accessories. 10mm-thick braided steel cable is hard to cut and is protected by a durable vinyl covering that guards your bike’s paintwork against accidental damage. Double looped ends work well in conjunction with other U-locks, padlocks or disc locks to securely affix any auxillary components to your bike.

Additional security Very useful to lock the front wheel to a U-lock or similar - also can wrap around larger trees / lampposts when the U-lock doesn't fit. March 22, 2011

Essential edition to main lock Got one of these with a Kryptonite Mini 7 Evo lock and decided to buy this additional one so I could lock both the front and rear wheels of my full sus Spesh Camber Expert to the main D-lock. Cable is protected so won't scratch your bike and I can thread it through my seat bracket, around my rear wheel and still link it to the main d-lock, just about! My bike is a large frame and the seat is high too! Very reasonable price for thickness and quality so definitely recommend it. Can be awkward to transport especially if you have 2 like me but it can be done by wrapping each one around the d-lock. For this reason and the fact is can secure the seat as above I would say the longer 7ft cable is unnecessary. April 21, 2013

With a decent padlock, as good as most locks ... Decided to buy this rather than any sort of 'D' lock as in most situations, 'D' locks are not large enough to go round what you want to lock your bike to. ('D' locks are also much heavier, more awkward to carry and are much more expensive.) Combined with a reasonable good quality standard padlock (and I bought a 40mm Yale one for under £6), the Kryptonite 4ft Kryptoflex does a good job of locking the bike, and above all, does the all-important job of acting as a deterrent.
