Given the fact that this is at the very cheep end of the scale I guess you wouldn't expect to much, however you might possibly expect a bit better than this.

From the start I got a puncture in the rear wheel the first two times I used it, bit of bad luck you might think! However if I had not been in such a rush to get to work the first time I had to fix it, I probably would have noticed the size of the hole in the tube and the fact that it was on the inside. So a bit of new rim tape to cover the pathetic bit it came with and problem solved. Which wouldn't have been too bad had it not been obvious that they must have had the same problem in the shop. As the valve on the first tube I replaced was shorter than the one on the front wheel and too short to clear the rim and attach a pump properly.

The next puncture was just bad luck, but highlighted how soft the tyres get when its wet, so they've already been replaced.

Next up was the chainring, which was described as a 48 tooth, both on this website and the manufacturers. I knew from having taken the bike for a decent test ride that I would have to change it, but wasn't all that impressed when I removed the chainring to discover it was only a 44.

So far I've done only around 200 miles on the bike and I already need to replace the break pads, which must have been made out of paper mache and the bottom bracket is making some interesting noises ever since it started raining, nothing a good clean won't fix, but for how long?

It may not sound like it, but I do quite like the bike and I'm sure I'll like it a lot more once I've ironed out all of the bugs.

But for the moment this cheap, simple, everyday alternative to using my road bike is starting to become not so cheap after all.

This is an absolutely beautiful bike to ride in every way. Smooth, sturdy yet responsive, lovely drivetrain efficiency.

Definitely buy it if you want a quality, poised, easy ride. One thing, however. Unless you're only going to ride it on a track, replace the teeny-tiny tyres with the biggest you can get on the rims. First dive into one of themultiplicitous local potholes and BOTH tyres went flat.

I've put 700x32c tyres with 700x28c tubes on and they're running brilliantly. Worth the extra expense to salvage a cracking bike.

Good Bike

Been rinding bike for a few months now and am generally pleased.

Only problems I found is that the valves were far too short and could not attach a pump so had to replace both of them. I also found that the gearing was too low, even on a flat road i found myself spinning out which prevented me from reaching a decent pace. therefore, I changed the sprocket to a 16 tooth which give me better results.

however, apart from this its a great bike and the half link chain is incredibly strong. wheels are also very strong and no sign of them becoming even slightly out of true.

Worth the money but needs some more spending on it

Have had the bike for 5 months now, use it to do a daily commute of about 8 miles round trip.

First things first, it's a very comfortable ride. This is my first single speed and I have been very pleasantly surprised. The bike springs away from traffic lights and gets to a comfortable cruising speed with remarkably little effort, seems like there's no power loss through the drivetrain at all. CroMo frame is so much easier on the rump than the alloy/carbon I have been used to.

Now comes the downside. The tires it comes with, while excellent and grippy, puncture and tear so very easily, in my first month I think I had about 5 punctures. They will need replacing as one of the first things you do with something that has more puncture resistance (currently running Specailzed Armadillo, and haven't suffered a puncture since switching).

Inner tubes will also need replacing, and if you want to be ultra careful get some decent rim tape.

Be careful when re-fitting the back wheel, make sure you get the chain tension right. I had it too tight on one occasion and had an almighty cracking noise, since then the cranks have been clicking, so I'm assuming it's the bottom bracket that's gone.
