The Shimano M770 XT Cassette - 9 Speed is a high performance 9-speed cassette. Hyperglide sprockets have a computer designed tooth configuration with contoured shift gates resulting in a crisp smooth shift even under load. Close ratio gearing allows a more efficient use of energy through finer cadence control. The six largest sprockets are mounted on a lightweight alloy carrier to reduce weight and increase rigidity. The sprockets are cut away and drilled to further reduce weight without reducing rigidity. A chrome-plated finish offers hard wearing resistance to corrosion. Also comes with a chrome-plated steel cassette lockring. Available in two ratio options and designed for Super Narrow 9-speed HG chains. Weight 256 g for 11 - 34T.

The benchmark for performance and durability

As always when you buy any Shimano component you get the years and years of extensive development and research which puts shimano products at a benchmark status. This cassette is what I consider to be a must have for any mid to high priced MTB. Weather you ride recreationally on the weekend or are out on a 12 hour endurance event. This component is fundamental to your performance, it remains smooth and precise even under pressure. With 5 of the 9 sprocket wheels on an aluminium spider this saves a considerable amount of weight bringing the total weight to 256g. The XT cassette is a clear choice for anyone who wants performance, durability and to save weight.

Great Cassette

Pros: Lightweight, Good value, Good quality

This cassette was very easy to install for a beginner, and was considerably lighter than the 8 speed cassette i removed. The cogs themselves are very sturdy, and have a very good grip on the chain even on the lowest cog, and i experience no chain slip which i got on my old cassette.
