The Shimano RS30 Wheel – Front offers aero performance and excellent quality at a competitive price.

Hub Shell:: High lateral rigidity is produced increased by wide flange spacing. Smooth high polished finish hub shell
Spokes:: 16 front stainless steel butted and bladed straight pull spokes with a 2 cross lacing pattern improve lateral and torsional (power transmission) rigidity. Elbow-less spokes make for a strong yet compliant wheel
Bearings:: The Hub uses angular contact bearings designed to cradle the balls giving both radial and lateral support for superior strength and durability in real world riding conditions. They also offer precision bearing adjustment and easy maintenance. Labyrinth and contact sealing – low-friction seals effectively shut out water, mud and dirt without affecting rotational smoothness

Shimano RS30 Wheel - Front 3 5 1 1

Great wheel, poor bearings out of the box! I really like this wheel. It seems sturdy and should take a lot of potholes. However, the bearings are a big let-down out of the box. The wheel just doesn't spin that nicely as I had expected. My cheap Alex wheel even spins better than this one! Maybe some bearing maintenance would help, but then again that costs money that I wouldn't like to spend for such an expensive wheel after only having owned it for a month! Bottom line: All the aerodynamics don't help because the bearings are a big let-down. If you read that Shimano, please send me a new wheel or give me my money back... November 28, 2012
