Design and Description Failure.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Pros: Good quality, Looks great

Cons: Poor quality, not designed for disc brakes, poor instructions, inadequete fittings

I recommend that you do not buy these if you have disc brakes, you can see from other reviews that it is thoroughly a frankenstein and diy job that is required to fit these, they should very clearly tell you in the description of this product that it it is not designed for disc brakes.

I read the instructions which are lacking but I also watched a great video on youtube which documented how to fit these, I fitted them securely and accurately as according to these intructions.

The rear mudguard is excellent, that was fitted no problem what so ever and is very firmly in place, it both looks and functions great, this is why I give it 2 stars.

The front mudguard however, is so awkward to fit, you have to trim things down use spacers and washers that are not supplied and bend and force things into a position so that it will function. I should state that I have 35c tyres, it has been stated that this supports up to 37c tyres but given my experience I don't see how that's at all possible, again I feel the discription needs to more accurately reflect this.

Once I had fitted the guards and seen that they were in a good position and cleared the tyre, I went out for a ride.. after about 30 minutes I was coming down a moderately steep hill so I touched on the brakes, as soon as I did this I started getting a grinding noise from my front wheel, the front mudguard stays had bent and changed position and the mudguard was now touching the tyre... I managed to solve this by again bending the stays into the original position as they had shifted under light braking... I got a further 10 minutes without any breaking and due to the vibrations on the road it started doing it again, so I stopped and bent the stays yet again and went home.

The next morning I get all my kit on and get ready to go to work, as I take the bike down the drive the front mudguard starts grinding again, with some moderate force I pulled at the guard to try and lift it off the wheel and a piece of it broke/snapped off, so being the fine and reasonable gentlemen that I am I decied to use what I'd call "excessive force" and I broke the entire front mudguard into several pieces, tore it off the bike and then tossed it into a hedge.

Now, Bruce Banner I am not but, one thing it does describe on the front of the packaging is that they are "Virtualy Indestructible"... I think not.

Thoroughly annoyed, disappointed and now lack a front mudguard...

Good for a Hybrid Bike - some DIY needed.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great, fits securely

Cons: some cutting required, lack of washers to protect paint

Decided to choose the "wide road" guards to fit to my Scott Sportster 50 hybrid rather than hybrid specific guards as the wheels are relatively narrow (700x37). These guards fit beautifully and in black (to go with the bike colour scheme) look good too.

Fitting them needs a little bit of patience and commonsense. The instructions are pretty basic and OK, but final fit and adjustment for the front guard did require the front stays to be hacksaw trimmed by approx 3cm, and then gently bent to sit flush with the fork screw holes. I don't think its that unreasonable to do this as the product won't be an exact fit for all bikes.

Rear guard much easier to fit and was done with the wheel in place. No trimming required on this one, but again some gentle bending of the stays to square up with screw holes and wheel.

Bolts/screws did the job, but I would hazard a guess that on some bikes there may not be enough of a certain length for tidy fitting, as this would depend on depth of the fixing point on the forks, seat stay etc. I'd also like to see some plastic washers included for protecting the paintwork at the fixing points.

Overall though, very happy, good product, but be patient when fitting them.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Pros: Lightweight

Just about got these to fit my Kona Honky Inc. Maybe should have gone for the slim ones as there wasn't much clearance on the rear at the top of the seat stays. It was ok, but in the end I cut a bit out in case of a buckled wheel one day.

The front needed a bit of bending around the disc brake to get a fit.

Now they are on, all ok.

Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great

Cons: may need adapting to fit bike

Been riding with these mudguards for the past month now and I’m very impressed; they look smart and are built to a high standard. I'd recommend getting them fitted professionally as mine required some alterations to fit my Caadx 105 cross.
