This is an excellent bike, I am really pleased with it. My friend has just bought a different bike and paid more than me and my Specialized looks a lot smarter! I really like Specialized as a brand, I think it shows that they really want to make the best product they can. I cannot fault the quality of the bike either.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great

This bike was a great purchase. I spent quite a while looking through reviews and other retailers, and my reserach led me here. This is the first road bike I have owned and it feels absolutely great. The compact chainring is fine, the big cog has more than enough to make you fly along, you won't be likely to be searching for more gears on the flat. Similarly you definitely wont be searching for more in the climbs, flicking down through the gears (which shift very nicely) you can easily make your way up the steepest. It's very light, atleast at the front end with the carbon forks, although I am considering upgrading the seatpost to something a little more lightweight and comfortable. The pedals it comes with are not that nice, I shall be trading them out for some SPD's pretty soon. Some new tires would probably be advisable also, I got a flat within 3 days of owning the bike, going to be upgrading to Gatorskins. Overall, great bike, whether it be your first or just another one to add to the collection.

All you need on the road

Pros: Good quality

This bike did it for me it was all I needed for road trips from home for a few miles it'll keep me fit. My last bike was a Paris Sport and the Allez was a revelation compared to it - the gear changes made it easy again to get up those Welsh hills.

Great little bike

Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great

Cons: cheap tyres

This is a really good entry level road bike. It's nice and light and it looks fantastic. I'm still getting used to riding it but it feels very responsive.

My only criticism would be the tyres that come with it which are Specialized Espoir. They're cheap and they don't offer much puncture protection.

I would also have preferred a tighter gear configuration. As it stands the difference between the two chain rings is huge. The large one is like a racing chain ring, whereas the small one is something your grandma might use. The 2011 Allez was better in this regard.

Now all I need is a warm sunny day and a couple of hours to take it out on a proper ride.
