I bought these shoes for use on my fixed wheel bike as a more efficient way of cycling than toe clips. As i use my fixie for getting around town and visiting people these shoes enable me to just jump off my bike and walk into a shop or a pub without having the problems of slipping around on the cleats and sounding like i'm wearing high heels as i do with my road shoes. They also don't look too chunky off the bike as they don't have the off road sole like mountain bike shoes. They are fairly wide fitting but i have that problem with every shoe. The reflective strips on the shoe are very bright in the night which is always an added bonus.
I've found these shoes comfortable and a good compromise between a cycling shoe and a shoe that you can walk short distances in.

Given that this was my first venture into clipless pedal systems, I wanted something that fulfilled three criteria: good support for the foot whilst riding; an option of using them without cleats, and a non-industrial look. These certainly fit the bill.

I have been using these on a regular basis for a 12 mile commute and they have shown no sign of stretching or undue wear and tear. They are certainly very comfortable and it is indeed possible to walk in them with the cleats fitted, for a short distance at least. The Velcro fasteners provide for a quick on and off and they hold very well indeed.

Fitting the cleats is straightforward, and is well explained in the instructions provided with the shoes, necessitating the removal of a rubber cover on the sole of the shoe with a pair of pliers and attaching the cleats to the sliding plate which provides ample lateral and longitudinal movement.

I am very pleased with my purchase and thoroughly recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable yet functional SPD shoe.

Great shoes needed a size up on my normal size but so far they tick all the boxes for my commute to work, walking is fine even with the SPD cleat attached.
