I brought this bike as i needed a new cross and road bike. It has suited me fine so far and is about to be used for the cross season. I wouldnt advise buying this for road as it is heavy and you dont the clearence this has. Having the triple chain set it useful and the shifters mean rapid fire changing. The wheels are basic but i have got new ones and the tyres arent good for cros or road. I love the forks and they make this bike stand out. If you are looking for clearnece then this is what you want. The stem is long so had to change it which they didnt add into the price. Saddle is good quality and doesnt leave me hurting. I have had the shifters cover rub off onto my glove in the hot weather. You cant get many cross bikes at this price and i would get this one instead of the comp.

Found myself falling in love with cycling again.

I pondered long and hard over buying a new bike. I have survived for the last 7years with a Gary Fisher mountain bike that I bought from a small independant shop in Leicester but it was showing it's age. I felt I had fell for the trend of buying mountain bikes. It was rarely used offroad, almost never on a track or hill let alone a mountain.

In my search I found several touring bikes but they were out of my price range and was unsure whether I needed all the kit that goes with them, not to mention the weight. I moved onto road bikes and racing bikes but nothing really caught my eye until I found this.

I can't really fault it. I will be honest my depth of knowledge is slight when it comes to bikes but there are so many things to recommend buying this.

The first thing that I noticed was the lightness of the frame. It is easy to pick up with one hand up to shoulder height.

Secondly it is strong. I actually bought my bike in Bristol and transported it back to my base in France via a combination of cycling and train. I have been using it constantly for the last 3 weeks on the backroads of Normandy. It has hit bumps and potholes and takes it all in it's stride.

It also covered the ground fast making it an ideal commuter bike. I have been doing between 50km-70km and each ride and it burns up the road. I am not a long distant cyclist and I found it easy to manage a healthy 20km an hour without pushing it. I have also yet to hit a hill that I haven't been able to get over which surprises me with my fitness levels. OK my part of rural France is not full of steep gradients but the gearing is wide enough to make it easy to overcome any obstactles.

Mechanically it runs very well. I have only noticed a slight ammount of folk judder when heading down a very steep hill at about 45km and putting the breaks on hard. I more mature way of dealing with the hill and speed brought not issues.

Finally though I didn't buy it for looks it appears to turn heads too. On the train over and on the road. I have had lots of comments on its looks.

Clearly I have stopped looking for bikes now but I would fine it hard to find a better bike for its price.

bought this bike last year its built like a tank will take any amount of pounding nice low gearing for off road hills handlebars a bit to high for me but will get it sorted with new stem a bit heavy compaired with my road bike also makes good touring bike with panniers etc

This bike was recommended by boss of my company. At the time was thinking of buying BMC. I already have Mountain bike and cycle 1.5 hours on sunday and go to gym daily (not exactly unfit ..)
