Town and country flyer Got my Tern Link P9 through the Evans Ride2Work scheme and am really enjoying it. It's advertised as a city commuter bike but my 9.5-mile ride to work takes in eight miles of country lanes, a train ride and a run through London's West End, all of which it handles with aplomb. The bike itself looks great and feels solid. I got it in preference to a another make because I felt there had been some innovation particularly around the joints and handles, and indeed there is. The stem feels steady when you're steering, with the front wheel feeling twitchy only in the '20-inch wheel' sense, not the 'folding stem' sense. So overall it gives you a lot of confidence it'll go where you want it. Gearing is excellent with enough of a range to cover hills and long straights, and the shifter is precise. Braking is nicely assured. It's definitely a great commuter bike and mine came equipped with mudguards and a rack. It's not at all heavy and with a decent pair of legs you'll find it can really move. The fold takes some practice and my advice is to get the (very knowledgeable) shop guys to take you through it a couple of times before you ride away with it. That way you won't look a plonker at the station (as I did!). Aside from being great for commutes it loves the open road and mine is great along the country lanes of Kent. As I get fitter I'll cover more ground on it and am looking forward to some really long cycle path rides where I can pack it in the back of the car and just go. I fitted mine with some SPDs and am thinking of a Brooks B67 saddle as another tweak. Overall, very pleased with the bike and definitely recommend it, especially if you can get it on the Ride2Work scheme. May 29, 2013

faster than i thought it would be I spoke to your help desk on Friday to a gentleman named Carl to find out which store had the p9 - I think it was his name anyway. He was really helpful and he had personal knowledge of the bike as I had asked him Tern Link P9 or Tern Verge P18 he even knew the difference between the teeth on the cogs which was nice to see some really knowing their product. I was being pulled towards the p9 but I was still looking at the Tern Verge P18. I ended up driving to my local train station where I parked my car and I was going to fold the bike and come back on the train. I was going to the Canary Wharf about 9 miles away from where I parked my car.When I got there the staff were so helpful - I took the bike for a test run and was happy with the bike so they set it up for me by then I had decided to ride to my car which I did. I was really impressed with bike’s performance and speed. On the way back to my car there was this fellow on a mountain bike and as I tried to overtake him he looked around and I heard his gears as he tried not to be overtaken by a small wheeled bike , I geared up and I smiled as I left him far behind . I am very happy with my purchase and in the short time I have owned the bike (3 days) I have ridden over 40 miles and it’s not my main bike! Wing40 May 14, 2013

Great lightweight folder I've had this bike a couple of weeks now and it's a good light weight, solid feeling ride. I'd certainly recommend it but with a few caveats: 1. If you live somewhere hilly you might not think it has enough gears - it's fine around town but one of my regular journeys involves an 800ft climb in 2 miles and I'd not dream of attempting that on this bike! 2. The fold is really quick and easy but the magnet that holds the two halves together isn't the strongest. There are some inventive tips on the net involving velcro or bungee cords to make this mating more secure. 3. It's a very fast fold (way faster than my friend's Brmpton) but it's not that small when folded. I have still managed to get it in the bottom section of a small luggage rack on a train but it's not such an easy fit under the desk at work. All in all, a good buy. March 8, 2013

very good bike, nice ride and fast This is a very good folding bike and it has some good components for this price bracket. I really enjoyed riding this bike and feels stable and fast. The negatives? The size! even when folded its still bulky. I have removed the rack but even so its still very heavy carrying up 3 flights of stairs!! If only 1 or 2 its okay :) February 20, 2013
