The Evans Cycles RideIt! crowning glory. The route covers the Surrey hills, North Downs, Ashdown Forest and Kent, and accumulates 9,000 ft of climbing on the 115 mile route. There is a 54 mile option available which promises to be just as inspiring.
The King of the Downs is a sportive of ten epic climbs.
The ride begins from Evans Cycles HQ in Gatwick, and notable climbs along the route include Leith Hill, The Wall (Kidd’s Hill) and Titsey Hill – and riders will see some of the best of the countryside along the way.
Not only is this an awesome ride that promises to test your legs and lungs, it’s also fantastic value.
Every entrant will receive a free pre-ride breakfast, and a cooked meal on they return. We’re working with High5 to keep riders fuelled, and there will be feedstations along the route, which will be well stocked with sweets, bananas, High5 products and cake.
Riders will all be supported along the route.
We will have mechanics on hand and there will be a broomwagon on the course. You’ll get a laminated map to take with you, to back up the way-marked route, and GPX files will be sent out to all riders the Thursday evening before the event, too.
Your completion time will be recorded electronically, and an event photographer will be out to capture your climbing face, too (because we all know that makes for the best shots).
On top of all that, we’ve put together some fantastic goodybags, which will include products from High5 and a cycling cap to remember the (hopefully sunny) day by.

**Course clearing begins at 10:45am however we will not overtake the last rider.
A cut-off time will be imposed for the long loop to ensure we are able to clear all of the signage. The cut-off time will be advised at registration and during your rider briefing. |
