Saturday February 28th: Off-road ride

Route description: Leaving the Centre, we wind up hill through the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park until Forest Drive. Then it’s down past Loch Drunkie and on to Loch Venachar. Here we ride along the waterline of the Loch until it’s time to climb back over the Mentieth Hills and back to base. The Medium ride includes the climb up to Lime Crag which rewards you with a straight descent of 450ft in less than ½ a mile! The track is mainly all man-made, so the ground conditions won’t be affected by the weather.

Route options available at this venue:

  • Short – 14 miles
  • Medium – 25 miles
  • Long – 32 miles

Sunday March 1st: Road ride

Route description: This area has it all!! We’ve got some great views, long, Lochside roads, tough climbs and the payback descents. In fact, the Medium route passes 9 Lochs in 50 miles with the long route within shouting distance of a 10th. Depending on the length of ride you do, you’ll have to tackle Dukes Pass at least once as well. This is a 500ft climb in 2.5miles followed by a 700ft descent in another 2.5 miles! As there are not enough roads in the area, I’m afraid we’ll have to leave the Fun route of this event.  Due to the winter lighting and terrain, we’ll keep the distances down a bit as well.

Route options available at this venue:

  • Fun – (sorry no 'Fun' route option at this venue)
  • Short – 30 miles
  • Medium – 50 miles
  • Long – 70 miles

Breath taking scenery awaits sportive road riders

IMPORTANT NOTE: Route options and lengths are subject to change. Final routes will differ to the provisional routes due to road closure, trail & road conditions and weather conditions. Provisional routes are not suitable for navigation purposes, map of confirmed route will be provided to all riders on the day.
