How does it work?
The Cycle to Work Scheme is an annual tax exemption which allows employers to purchase bikes and equipment to be hired to employees as a tax-free benefit. The cost of purchasing the equipment is recovered via salary sacrifice, which usually runs over 12 months.
Employees may then be given the option to purchase the equipment at an agreed Fair Market Value, which can be managed by Evans Cycles Ride2Work to further simplify administration and maximise employee savings.
When employees reduce their gross salary employers benefit from a corresponding reduction in their national insurance contributions. Here are some examples*:
Setting-up Ride2Work is simple, free and easy
We provide the Ride2Work service totally free of charge. You will benefit from a full online administration system, all the necessary documents, helpdesk support, marketing materials and account management.
Approve employee applications
Your employees visit their local Evans Cycles store, use our website or telephone contact centre to decide what they wish to purchase and the value. Quotes can be provided. Employees then complete an online application form and hire agreement which you then approve via the online system. Paper options also available.
Sign-up your company with Evans Cycles Ride2Work
Complete the company registration form here. You’ll receive your account number within 1 hour enabling you to launch Ride2Work straight away.
Certificates dispatched to employees
Once approved by you we issue Ride2Work certificates to employees by email. This usually happens the same day you approve the application. Payment is made either by pro-forma invoice or credit terms are also available. We can also refer you to asset finance providers if required.
Promote your scheme to employees
We can supply free marketing materials to help you spread the word about your new Ride2Work scheme. For companies with more than 100 employees we provide an account management service which includes training, marketing and delivering events or employee presentations.
Salary sacrifice commences
Monthly gross salary sacrifice deductions commence for 12 – 18 months. At the end of the term employees may be given the option to purchase the bike or continue to use it free of charge. Find out more about end of scheme transfer of ownership here
