There’s something special about riding a bike in peak condition - it’s clean, silent, the gears shift seamlessly, the chain runs smoothly…
Our FIX IT Maintenance classes will provide you with the skills to carry out basic maintenance on your bike to ensure it functions as efficiently as possible between your major services, therefore prolonging the life of your bike and its components. It will also reduce the frequency that you need to book it in for a professional service.

We run bi-monthly sessions in every store. Our staff have been trained by our in-house fully qualified training team to share the best methods of home maintenance. Each place on a course costs £15 for a 1 hour session including a training manual and maintenance goodie bag.
The session covers:
• Bike component guide
• How to conduct a pre-ride bike safety check
• How to change an inner tube following a puncture
• Cleaning and re-lubing your drivechain to prevent wear & tear and encourage a smoother ride
• Brake adjustment
• Gear adjustment
• Q&A with the trainer

Please note that all of the above will be carried out on a Evans demonstration bike. Sorry, but we can't work on customer bikes during the session.

Women’s Only FIX IT sessions

We carried out a survey to find out what our female customers wanted from their bike shop, and 34% of women we asked said the best thing we could do would be to provide women’s only FIX IT classes. We’ve responded, and now one in every four sessions at every store is a women’s only session.

The women’s only FIX IT classes will follow the same format as mixed groups, but will be for an all female group. Wherever possible, the session-leader will be female, but this won’t always be the case.

To sign up to a session, just find your store, select ‘book online’, and choose one of the classes with a purple logo.

Your session can be booked by contacting your local store or via our contact centre on (+44)01293574900 or you can now book classes at your nearest store online. A list of times and days can be found below.  Each customer will receive a maintenance manual with instructions and pictures detailing all the topics covered during the session and a goodie bag containing over £15 worth of maintenance kit used during the course. Spaces are limited to six per session, there will be a member of staff on hand to answer any questions you have.
