BMC Teammachine SLR02 105 2014 Road Bike The SLR02 was designed for those looking for legendary BMC teammachine performance, but at a more affordable price point. To make the SLR02 more affordable, some design elements are changed from the SLR01, like the SLR01's proprietary seatpost and the full carbon dropouts, but the frame design and stiffness values remain identical. With a scant frame weight of just 950 grams, the SLR02 still offers a very high stiffness to weight ratio. The lateral stiffness maximizes power transfer while its torsional stiffness boosts steering precision.
Comfortable: Believe it or not, Cadel Evan's main requirement for a race bike is comfort. He needs to ride long hours every day without being sapped of his energy, and arrive as fresh as possible at the finish line. We solve this need with our Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC) by combining stiffness in laterally flexing directions, and compliance in vertical directions. Specifically, carbon-fiber lay-up and tube shapes are optimized so that the bike can resist rider-actuated forces, while at the same time giving in to road forces.
