With the introduction of the timemachine TT01 shape in 2004, BMC set the bar for timetrail bike design. Although it has undergone repeated modifications over the years, the timemachine has remained fundamentally unchanged. In unveiling a new triathlon and timetrail bike, BMC has responded to the exacting demands of triathletes and timetrial specialists in equal measure. Unique flexibility in terms of adjusting the riders personal position, sophisticated integration and the adoption of the latest aerodynamic technology make the BMC Timemachine TM02 2012 Tri/TT Frameset the new benchmark in the race against the clock.
With an impressive array of new technologies, the TM01 is the best weapon available for the TT/Tri specialist: Tear drop 3:1 - In accordance with UCI guidelines, the frame shape is formed aerodynamically in a length to width ration of 3:1. Tripwire Concept - An achievement from aeronautics. Special wind curbs are moulded into the carbon frame which create the slightest turbulence directly above the surface. This forms a sort of air cushion for the wind flow. Truncated profile - Instead of continuing the surface in a teardrop shape, a straight break-away edge is worked in the profile. The turbulence can be managed and controlled by this. The minimised raw materials also reduce weight and increase stiffness of the frame.
