Castelli can trace its Italian heritage back to 1876 and a tailor from Milan. The first Castelli clothing produced for cycling was made in the 1910's for the world champion and five-time Giro champion Alfredo Binda. The famous scorpion logo is synonymous with all cyclists and was designed in 1977 and can be found adorned on all Castelli jerseys throughout their extensive range. Throughout their rich Italian history, Castelli is well renowned for their constant innovation in cycling. In 1977 the first aerodynamic Castelli bib shorts were used in racing by the pro peloton and were also made available to the public. This innovation extended to cater for cyclists seeking maximum performance for all weather conditions. Their clothing range has expanded over the years to include windproof cycling jerseys found in the Castelli Gabba range or Castelli Perfetto jackets and softshells for colder conditions.
