We’re excited to share with you RIDE IT Events Manager Mark Gregory’s 10 highlights of the 2018 RIDE IT series..
RIDE IT Mendips Sportive – Sunday 25th March 2018
Maybe I’m biased as these are my local roads, but for sheer variety this ride is hard to beat – plan flat across the levels, a cruise along the sea front then back via Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills.
Some practically car free lanes with the descent down Dukes Pass featuring swooping corners that will always leave you with a big grin on your face.
RIDE IT Wimbledon Store Ride – Sunday 24th June 2018
The store ride that always attracts our biggest turn out and takes riders through London’s cycling mecca of Richmond Park.
King of the Downs – Sunday 10th June 2018
Our headline event taking in 10 climbs over 112 miles including Box Hill the south’s answer to the alps and probably the most ridden hill in England.
RIDE IT Cambridge Sportive – Sunday 8th July 2018
One of our biggest summer rides with an open air big screen showing the Tour de France which attracts the broadest mix of riders including the odd dog!
RIDE IT Peak District – Sunday 19th August 2018
For an August event it’s had more than its fair share of bad weather over the years adding to the challenge, but it’s worth it for the iconic Peak District climb of Winnats Pass.
RIDE IT Brighton MTB – Saturday 4th August 2018
Local trails for a lot of our event staff and a ride along the South Downs Way is a classic mountain bike route everyone should ride at some point.
RIDE IT South Wales MTB – Saturday 15th September 2018
Heading into the Brecon Beacons offers some great natural riding with breathtaking big views around nearly every corner to take your mind off the climbs.
RIDE IT North Wales Sportive – Sunday 30th September 2018
A brutally tough hill fest with our single toughest climb as riders tackle the 25% hairpin on Bwlch Penbarras on tired legs towards the end of the ride.
RIDE IT Thetford – Sunday 25th November 2018
One of our mixed terrain events sees road, CX and MTB riders all line up together making for an eclectic mix of bikes and riders on the start line.
