Anchored by the design genius of company founder and head designer Mike Pfotenhauer, and with over 40 years of Independent Innovation, Osprey has long set the standard for comfortably and efficiently carrying your gear.
1974, California. A young man sits at the seat of a single sewing machine. He brings with him a passion for the outdoors, a head full of ideas and urge to build innovative backpacks. This man was Mike Pfotenhauer, the founder and chief designer for Osprey Packs. From the humble beginnings of a handful of custom designed backpacks grew the industry leading company that Osprey is today.
This heritage and passion for the outdoors has soared through the decades and exists in every thread and buckle used on Osprey Packs. Where Osprey has changed is in the ever evolving technology utilised in pack construction. Our experience of pack fit, stability and load distribution has been distilled into Airscape™ backsystem technology while our exploration of ventilation and comfort has culminated in the trampoline sprung Airspeed™ backsystem technology.
These innovations, and features such as the LidLock™ helmet carry, an integrated roll-out ToolWrap™ and LED light attachment points, offer a range of options for our biking audience, no matter where your wheels take you.
