Spring into the new season with the latest must-have cycling jerseys. Here’s a brief guide to some of the seasons best cycling jerseys for our brands in stores and online.
The race season is underway and the spring classics are just around the corner. It’s a great time for cyclists, full of promise and excitement for the warmer months ahead. There’s never a better time to breathe new life into our kit closet with fresh threads to wear on the bike. After all, looking good makes you feel good (especially at the café stop).
Castelli Gabba 2
When Castelli launched the Gabba in 2011, it was groundbreaking. In fact, so much so that it’s been copied by virtually ever clothing manufacturer since. The pros wanted it – even if it meant covering the scorpion logo, so as not to break sponsorship deals – and if pros demand it, so do we!
The Gabba isn’t just a spring jersey. In the UK we aren’t blessed with the sunniest of climbs, so it makes sense to have something in the kit bag that has Windstopper X-lite Plus fabric and is water-resistant too.
It’s available in a range of colours for both men and women and you can opt for either a short or long sleeve version. It’s truly a must have!
FWE LTR Long Sleeve
FWE (FW Evans) is our in-house accessory and component brand that branched out into clothing a year ago. And the LTR bit? We named it after our daily lunchtime ride! It’s important to test product, if we’re happy with it, then we hope you are too.
The LTR long sleeve jersey is classically cut, so it’s easy to wear on and off the bike. It comes in two colours; black or mustard for men and maroon or black for women and is made from a mix of polyester and recycled polypropylene which means it’s sweat-wicking and dries quickly should you get caught in an April shower.
Louis Garneau Course Windpro Long Sleeve Jersey
Not everyone is taking it easy this time of year. If you’re pushing your body hard enough to break a sweat, and still need to keep the elements at bay, then this jersey ticks all the right boxes. It’s race cut, which means it’s slim fitting and aero, and made with Polartec’s Light Wind Pro fabric, it’s light too. The jersey has a smart fleece interior with a tight construction that blocks the cold wind before it hits the chest. Important on those chilly spring mornings.
The Louis Garneau jersey is also breathable with a Thermasoft 180 fabric on the rear. It’s the perfect blend between warmth, weight and function. The three pockets on the back and multi media pocket are finished with a reflective trim. It’s available in four sizes, small through to extra large and in either black and red, or black and yellow.
Gore Bike Wear Element Thermo Long Sleeve Jersey
A jersey for all riders, male and female, the Gore Bike Wear Element Thermo Long Sleeve, is staple for those crisp mornings. It’s classically cut, so it’s easy to wear either as an outer layer or underneath a rain cape or Gore bike jacket. It has a great collar, high enough to keep out the cold and maintain the cosy.
It’s made from a mix of polyamide, which ensures that it wicks sweat away and dries rapidly. We’re fans of the Ivy Green colourway and the reflective detailing on the chest, arms and on the piping. The jersey has three rear pockets and a napoleon pocket on the front (which is ideal for storing your phone). It also comes in five sizes from small to XXL.
And if summer comes early…
New to Evans Cycles is the distinctive range from Primal, arriving with us very shortly… Neither men’s or women’s ranges are short of colour and style!
For women, the highlights for us are the Hawaiian print Maholo jersey and the block pattern, Mache. Both are made with Primal’s SpeedPro fabric for a great fit.
And for the men, our picks are the Hawaiian inspired Maui Wowi and the 80s “No way Hans Rey” throw back, the Wuz-Zappenin jerseys. Again, this both are made from Primal’s SpeedPro fabric and also feature three pockets on the rear.
All these jerseys, as Primal say, will make you “stand out for the right reasons.” We couldn’t agree more!
