So you want just one high-performance road bike that can do it all? Something that can provide the comfort, security and efficiency needed for endurance events, but also the excitement, handling and ability to make the heart pump and the adrenalin flow. Only one brand has the scientific knowledge needed to create this almost-impossible ideal. And only one bike has all the ingredients required to do it: the BMC Roadmachine.
Specifically designed with a ‘one-bike collection’ theme in mind, BMC created the Roadmachine range to bridge the gap between its incredible pro peloton-approved Teammachine race bikes and its Gran Fondo range of long distance mile-munchers. But the Roadmachine is no halfway house. If anything, BMC has created the seemingly unattainable: a single bike that is a master of all high-performance cycle requirements.
How it has done this is thanks to BMC’s well-deserved reputation for intensive research and development. As the newest frame design in the BMC road bike range, the Roadmachine has benefitted from BMC’s ever-evolving technical knowledge to create a machine that is fast, sleek, efficient, quick-handling, lightweight and — the hallmark of BMC bikes — beautifully integrated.
The finer details
Such lofty ideas are all very well, but how do these concepts show themselves in reality? Because the Roadmachine has been created as a fully integrated design — the result of the continued evolution of BMC’s Tuned Compliance Concept and Angle Compliance Technology — every detail that BMC could control has been manufactured to work in harmony with each other. For example, the TCC Compliance Post is a ‘D-shaped seatpost for a balanced and compliant ride that marries perfectly with the Integrated Seat Clamp, allowing for seamless integrated functionality.
In relative terms, that means Roadmachine is BMC’s highest performance endurance bike yet and, for the rider, the result is efficient high-speed road performance over any distance. But more than that, thanks to its race bike-rivalling low weight and reactive, fast handling, the Roadmachine is as nimble and agile as almost anything on the market. From cutting through a crowded pack of riders on a weeknight race, to fun and fast rides in the country with cycling buddies on a weekend morning, the Roadmachine really does deliver.
A question of spec
While the stability, compliance, road handling and power transfer are largely thanks to the Roadmachine’s carbon frame and fork design, BMC has taken great care to specify Roadmachine models with complementary components. The Roadmachine RM02 Three we are focusing on here is a perfect case in point.
Shimano’s 105 drivetrain offers exceptionally swift and secure gear changes with a broad range of ratios, suitable to cope with any challenge you’re likely to encounter on a long ride. Shimano’s RS505 hydraulic disc brakes offer the best possible braking performance for a road bike and, crucially, continue to work reliably even in wet weather. The Mavic Aksium Allroad Disc wheelset comes with 12mm Thru Axles to reduce flex and enhance power transfer. Even the Vittoria Rubino Pro 28mm tyres bring something extra to the package: excellent grip and just a little more compliance for comfort.
From axle to axle, BMC’s new Roadmachine RM02 Three delivers sleek, integrated technologies in a fast and lightweight package. With incredible reactive control and pedalling efficiency for instant excitement, and the ideal level of compliance for full days of riding, this is one road bike that really can do it all.
