Emilio De Marchi was born in 1906 and was a cycling pioneer. Friend of cycling legends like Ottavio Bottecchia, Gino Bartali and Louison Bobet, he created his own cycle clothing company called Maglifico Sportivo De Marchi just months after Word War II. He soon became famous for his cycling shorts, which were mostly made to measure for the literally hundreds of champions wearing De Marchi back then, and after half a century of design and innovation De Marchi became the first cycle clothing brand to achieve ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification. Today the De Marchi mission hasn't changed: design and create the best cycle clothing, period. To this end they have introduced the DeMarchi Vintage Merino Wool Blend Team Jersey.
While other brands have made efforts recently to design 'Retro' clothing, DeMarchi have simply gone back to their pattern archives and recreated authentic replicas of classic National Team jerseys, with the same design and feel of the originals they made for the greatest cycling champions back in the day. The lightweight Merino wool and synthetic blend is itch free and easy care. The Nickel-free zipper looks and feels the same as the original, only it performs better. The collar and cuffs are doubled and the jerseys have three back buttoned pockets. If you desire a retro look and also aspire to genuine quality and heritage, your search is over!
