How will I know my order is ready to collect?

 

If you have ordered clothing, parts or accessories then you will recieve an email when ready for collection. If your order is available from store stock, we will also send you an additional text message for confirmation.

 

If your order is a bike, we will contact you by telephone to arrange a collection appointment. Please note that during peak times appointments may be delayed.

 

What do I need to bring when collecting my order?

 

We will require your confirmation email, photo ID and the credit/debit card used for payment. Only the account holder may collect the order. If your order is not collected within 14 days it will be automatically cancelled. You will recieve collection reminders after 3 and 9 days of availability. 

 

Can I cancel or amend my order?

 

If you have any queries about cancelling or amending your Click & Collect order, contact your selected store directly. Phone numbers for all stores can be found from our store finder.

 

Can I return my order?

 

If you find your items unsuitable then you can return them on the spot for an instant refund/exchange. Click here for details.

Australian Tax Changes


With the Australian tax law policy changing on July 1st, 2018, we will no longer be able to meet our current pricing and level of service. It is therefore with regret that we will stop shipping to Australia from June 14th, 2018.

What happens to current orders?


Any orders that were placed before June 14th will be sent if the goods are in stock. The same applies to any outstanding backorders. Should this deadline not be met, we reserve the right to contact you to arrange a refund. We will cease to send you marketing emails, however, you will receive transactional emails until any outstanding orders are completed. Thank you for your choosing Evans Cycles in the past, we hope to be able to reverse this position at some point in the future.

The cost for shipping orders internationally can vary depending on the destination. Orders delivered outside the EU are exempt from VAT. European Priority Tracked


For customers in most European countries, a priority tracked delivery service is available for clothing, parts & accessories. Once we have dispatched your order, we will send you an email containing your shipping details. Order before 12pm for same day dispatch. Bike Packaging


All bikes ordered for international shipping are assembled and inspected by our qualified mechanics prior to being packaged. There are however some size restrictions when it comes to shipping them, therefore some light assembly may be needed upon delivery. We will provide clear instructions and any tools required.


 

International Product Restrictions


Some of the products and brands we sell are not available for international sales. The reason for this can vary from courier logistics due to size and weight or dealer restrictions which allow customers to try before they buy to get the right fit. Products that are available internationally will be visible when you select your delivery country settings.

 

 

International Collection Point (Gatwick Airport)


For our international customers that prefer the personal touch we offer the facility to collect your purchase in person from our Gatwick distribution centre – located 5 minutes from Gatwick International Airport, London. For details on our Gatwick distribution centre, click here.

 

Bikes collected from our Gatwick international collection point will be built and tested to our usual high standards. We are fully aware of the size restrictions imposed by airlines, we will repackage your bikes into a bike box ready for you to transport back on the plane once you have tried the bike for size. We can even arrange your taxi for your return. Alternatively we stock a range of soft and hard sided bike bags designed to safely transport your bike. International Visitors & In-Store Purchases


Evans Cycles are part of the VAT Retail Export Scheme. International travellers from outside the EU are in most cases able to claim the VAT back on their purchases. Please note, this can only happen in-store. How to claim back the VAT: At the time of purchase simply inform a member of staff in-store that you are an international visitor and wish to claim back the VAT on your purchase. Our staff will provide you with, and help you complete a VAT 407 form. This form is completed with details of your purchase, your contact details and details of the credit card you would like your refund processed to. Present the completed VAT 407 form, along with your receipt and goods at the Customs Desk at your departing port. It is important that HM Customs stamp your form, without this stamp your claim will be invalid. An official freight forwarder waybill can also be accepted as proof of export if you have used one to ship your goods. Upon successfully submitting the form, the form will be returned to us at Evans Cycles where we will process your VAT refund. Refunding the appropriate amount directly to your credit card, less a small admin fee (£20 on refunds over £50, £5 if less). Customers should be aware that VAT is not applied, and therefore cannot be claimed back on certain goods including helmets and some food items. International Country Delivery Restrictions


Unfortunately we have had to suspend shipments to private individuals in Russia, because of Russian customs restrictions.

 

 

BFPO Delivery


We can deliver clothing, parts and accessory orders to a BFPO address. Large items such as bikes, trainers or bulky items may not. This is a restriction set by the BFPO. For more info about the BFPO click here.


 

VAT & Duty


Website & phone orders VAT is automatically removed for orders delivered to the Channel Islands and outside of the European Community. VAT cannot be removed for deliveries within the European Community. Some countries may charge you import tax for certain items. If you have any queries regarding this then please contact your local tax office who should be able to assist you further. Unfortunately Evans Cycles cannot advise on import tax and duty enquiries and we cannot take responsibility for any customs or duty charges which may arise from importing any of our products into your country.


 

International Returns


If you wish to return an item that is unsuitable or not required you will be liable for the return delivery costs. If you wish to then try a different size or style, delivery will be charged again to post the alternative item back to you. Click here for more information on our returns policy.

 

 

EU Priority tracked delivery

All international orders are shipped using a fully tracked service, however customers inside of the EU can recieve their items faster using our priority international delivery service. 

For customers in most European countries, a priority tracked delivery service is available for clothing, parts & accessories. Once we have dispatched your order, we will send you an email containing your shipping details. Order before 12pm for same day dispatch. This service is unavailable for bike orders.

How we deliver your bike

We do everything we can to make sure your new bike reaches you in factory-fresh condition. That doesn’t mean covering it in bubblewrap and hoping for the best – we make sure that every bike is sent safely, securely and with only minor assembly required at your end before you can climb on board.


How your bike will arrive

Bike manufacturers send us new machines in bits and pieces – far from being ride-ready. And while some bike retailers are happy to just send this box onto you, we get your bike fully assembled and tested by one of our qualified mechanics BEFORE we send it. After all, you’ll be like a kid at Christmas when it arrives and probably won’t want to spend hours piecing it together (that’s even if you’ve got the right tools for the job).

So we’ll fit the forks, wheels, seat-post and other components for you. We’ll also adjust the gears and brakes (bleed disc brakes if necessary) and we’ll true the wheels, pump the tyres, and make sure that everything is tightened. Finally, we’ll turn the handlebars 90 degrees and remove the pedals (if supplied) for even more security during shipping. Only then will we pop it into one of our custom oversize bike boxes ready for collection. Hey presto.

Extras

 

If you’ve ordered any accessories or extras (saddle bags, water bottle cages, lights etc) they’ll be safely packaged in a separate box to prevent damage to your bike.

 

A few finishing touches

 

When your bike’s delivered, you’ll need to turn the handlebars around and attach the pedals. But don’t panic – we’ll supply you with full instructions, a multi-tool and a 15mm pedal spanner too. Simply follow the instructions and your bike will be ready to ride in minutes.

 

REMEMBER: Not all bikes come with pedals. Usually with higher end models, it’s left to the rider to choose the pedals they like to use. But if you’re unsure, check your bike description for more details.

What about kid’s bikes and stabilizers

 

We put all kid’s bikes through the same assembly process as our adult bikes (we even get them tested by our qualified mechanics). We also dispatch them with stabilizers and pedals removed – so there’s a little assembly required when the bike arrives at your door, but nothing too technical. Here are a few tips:

 

   • Most stabilizers can be fitted with a 15mm spanner, which you’ll get for free in the box. Handy.

   • Fit the stabilizers with the bike upright so that each stabilizer leg is about 1cm off the ground.
     This’ll help your little rider learn to balance, as the wheel should just be off the ground once
     they set off.

   • Setting up the stabilizers correctly also helps on uneven ground as it stops the bike from beaching
     (when the wheel is no longer in contact with the ground).

 

BMX stunt pegs

 

We have to remove stunt pegs before we send BMX bikes else they won’t fit in our boxes. But fitting them back on is pretty straightforward – you’ll need a ratchet with an extension bar and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm socket (please note: tools for this aren’t supplied).

 

International & Offshore UK bike orders

 

With international shipping comes a few size restrictions. So we have to send our bikes off in a partly assembled state. We still build and test every bike before shipment, however you’ll need to carry out a little assembly at your end, which will require a number of tools.
