Product Details

The Garmin Virb is Garmin's first 1080p action sport camera and it has all the characteristics and potential that its rival's have. Now the Virbs Competitors have a close contender, and there are some features on this that have a slight one up on the GoPro and other HD action sport cameras. First of all the battery life on this camera will last 50% longer than the GoPro, giving you up to an hour and half more filming time. Great if you are out for the day and you are packing light. With a built 1.4'' Chroma high resolution screen things are made easier; control set up, playback and camera adjustments. you won't be disappointed with the quality of the shooting either, 1080p with a 16 megapixel camera lens ensures you'll be getting crisp images whether they are in still or video format. When filming in 1080p the camera will be taking shots at 30fps; 960p at 48fpds, 720 at 30 or 60 and 848x480 at 120 fps. these options are great for if you decide to use the footage for slow-motion playback. The Stills that the Virb can take are also really good quality, you have your choice of mega pixels; 16mp, 12mp and 8mp. these settings also apply for the time Lapse. For those of you that are worried about damaging the camera, whether its dropping it or even dropping it in the water, there is no need to worry. The Virb has a robust, durable and waterproof exterior, which allows those annoying knocks and scraps to happen with no worries about the internals.

There aren't going to be any angles that the Virb isn't going achieve. Garmin have set the Virb up a WideVu Lens, which will allow you to record or capture some wide angled scenery shots or you can choose from another two settings, medium or thin. this adds more styles of filming for you to adopt. Another great feature that the VIRB has the capability of doing is it's wireless ANT+ connectivity. This enables you to use any compatible Garmin such as the Edge or the Fenix Oregon as a remote, so therefore you do not have to remove your hands from the bars in order to stop filming or to take a picture. You can also use cadence or a heart rate strap alongside for fitness purposes. If you can't spare to lose a minute of filming to take a picture then the Garmin VIRB is for you, allowing you to shoot a still image whilst filming, another feature that is clearly one step ahead of GoPro. Over all this camera is something new from Garmin and I can only see it getting better in the future. Garmin's desktop edit software comes in the pack.
